Sassy Girl Goes Full House

My attempt to suddenly show interest in Korea’s showbiz celebrities may come off lamely with this post, but I just happen to be so familiar with the characters of this very, very… let’s say, ‘cute’ news (I knew it. Nice try Ella). Just be reminded that I’ve always been a fan of a nice set of abs and a sassy personality *wink*.

I wonder how Philippine koreanovela fans will react on the rumored "dating" relationship of singer-actor Rain and Sassy Girl lead actress Jeon Ji Hyun?

I suddenly remembered this one afternoon session that I had with my officemates. I used to hold panel discussions in English and part of those weekly 30-minute attempts to spearhead “intelligent talks” was a chance for each participant to share to everyone their “Top News for the Day”. This new girl then shared this news about a well-known Korean actress who went open with her relationship with an “ugly and less popular (thus, less rich) celebrity”, quoting a guy colleague this time who went in unison with the girl’s news to share. The attitude didn’t really shock me since such scrutinizing tendencies of the more common people to these mainstream media personalities seem to be universal. Whether good or bad, we simply have a say over the lives of these celebrities for the mere fact that they are public figures that we pay to pore over.

Needless to say, Bi and Ji Hyun are my cutest couple to date. I think of the personalities of their portrayed characters in Full House and Sassy Girl, and I imagine a fun riot! Oh such effect of these hyped Korean dramas… and I know, I am so behind already. Unless anyone gives me the dubbed copies, I won’t be seeing a new Korean movie or TV series anytime soon.

Nami Island Trip

Being the ultimate Winter Sonata freak that I am, I checked out this famous island in South Korea— Nami Sum (Nami Island), located in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province so I can catch the last day of the said island’s “Foreigner’s Free Festival”. The said event celebrated Nami Island’s third anniversary of independence. It declared its independence in March 2006 and renamed itself as Naminara Republic. Now, what’s cute about this half-moon shaped island is it has invented its own passport, currency, and stamps since then, as it now promotes itself to other countries. Talk about living up to its “independence”, eh?

Full House Tour

I sure did not go here to Korea for pure leisure travel, but I think I deserve a breather from some corporate beating that I recently got, haha. So much about “saving faces” (just take this word as a great lesson from me, it would be too hard to explain), let me tour everyone to my first, out-of-Seoul trip. Yeeeha!

On E-L-L-A, the name

GMA-7 is airing a new Korean comedy series this Monday (July 7) on its afternoon watching streak entitled HELLO! MY LADY, and they are calling the lead character ELLA. I’d like to think it’s a good advertising for such a nice name (eherm), until I caught on the lead’s basic profile as per the TV station’s initial teasers.

Baduy. Probinsyana. Jologs.

Aba, aba!

The Koreanovela Remake

I caught on the Filipino version of the Kim SamSoon Korean comedy series with Regine Velasquez sporting the plump-lady look tonight, and though I feel I should give credit to the very good advertising done by the host station GMA even weeks before it actually showed, I am just afraid I'm not going to love watching it. I was a fan of the original Korean series though ;-)
