High-Breed Brain Cells

A few minutes before lunch time today, one of the PhD Economist in the team that I am in approached me to correct himself.

"Remember the lecture that I gave to you a month before?"
"Oh yes, of course. What about it, Mr. Lee?"
"I said it's just a global slowdown, right? But I think it's a global recession already."

I saw three small dots at the end of his statement, waiting for it to be filled with an equally witty remark. "Oh, really?" And that was all I was able to say. Wahahaha.

Just one of those conversations that make you feel you have no means of getting at even the brink of the high-breed brain cells that constituted such statement in his mind. And so you throw such line, same exact line you'd tell, usually, and even in a nosey way, when somebody says, "Hey, I think that white guy is gay" or "Hey, I really think he has a new girl already." As mundane as those.

There should come a time when I could generate that type of cell, and give a smart- ass response, so as to show even the littlest concern in the field of work that I am in. It comes with age and experience, of course.

I just thought of it now, do you think it would've been more smart-ass had I instead said something like, "So, with the KOSPI and DOW JONES plunging to huge base points, thus ailing our financial markets, will this be the end of capitalism?" Wahahahahahaha. So much for trying so hard.
